FAQ

Q: what comes with a zimkara rod?

A: All rods are packaged with their original Japanese boxes and spacers. The rods come with neck stoppers, the rod itself, felt tips, and a butt latch that lets you access each segiment of the rod.

Q: how do you get these great rods at such an inexpensive price?

A: We at Zimkara Rod Company deal direct with manufactures in Japan to cut out the middle men (and in today's Tenkara market, there are many). Since our founders also work directly in the Japanese language, all translation fees are omitted and we can give a pure product price. Fair and open is our policy.

Q. WHATS THE COMPARABLE LINE WEIGHT OF A TENKARA ROD TO A TRADITIONAL FLY ROD?

A. Comparing the two, because there are no equivalents, would be difficult. Tenkara rods were designed to cast with the tip of the rods, which makes using a fly line virtually impossible. It's designed to cast with extremely light line, as opposed to a traditional rod which actually utilizes the weight of the line for casting. Some would argue Tenkara rods, no matter the action are "zero weight" fly rods. Casting your traditional fly line with your Tenkara rod could result in snapping the tip of your rod off.

Q: what all do I need to get on the river?

A: With one of our wonderful rods all you need is some Tenkara fly line, and your favorite flies to be river-ready.

Q: how much is shipping?

A: Our policy is tried and true: $13 shipping secured with tracking anywhere in the continental US. We also ship internationally! However we need to calculate shipping based on your country, so please contact us for precise shipping estimates.

Q. how are returns handled?
